Maxon expands its business by acquiring the Parvalux Electric Motor

 

Maxon Motor, the Swiss precision and drive specialist, has added another name to its ever-growing family – Parvalux Electric Motor. As of February 2019, the Parvalux Electric Motors Ltd. operates as a subsidiary of the Maxon Motor Ag.

 

Parvalux, the family-owned limited company was founded in 1947. It is a member of the Clark Group of companies, based in Birmingham and Bournemouth. The British geared motor manufacturer was acquired by Maxon Motor for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition is a critical turn in Maxon’s portfolio that adds medical technology and industrial automation to its applications along with several other fields.

 

The Bournemouth-based geared motor manufacturer has been a specialist in producing brushed DC and AC motors, and gearheads for over 70 years. The company has more than 185 employees and currently owns three production sites. Parvalux currently generates an annual revenue of 23 million pounds with contribution from 40% of the output that it exports. The Parvalux acquisition will enable Maxon towards becoming a complete systems and solutions provider. It will also allow Maxon Motors to work with target users by offering customized products for each market.
