In a recent survey conducted by the Expert market research pan India on the most popular type of subscription service, it was concluded that with 27.41% of the total share, Video streaming services are the most used. This is further followed by Music streaming, food delivery and online shopping services.
Subscription model services have revolutionized the way we consume content, stream music, or even shop online. Out of the plethora of options available to a consumer, there are certain services which are used more by the consumers.

Types of Subscription Services
To further study this, a recent survey was conducted by the Expert market research Pan India, to study the subscription service choices of people, learning which type do they use the most.
The results showed that with 27.41%, majority of the respondents use Video streaming apps such as Netflix and hotstar the most. 14.72% of the respondents frequently use Music streaming apps including apple music and spotify. Following this closely are the subscriptions of food delivery apps such as Zomato, swiggy with 13.2% of the total shares. Subscriptions of Online shopping apps are also fairly popular, being the choice of 12.69% of the consumers. Next in line are the cloud storage services and online learning subscription, which are used by 8.63% and 7.61% of the participants. The remaining include services such as software subscriptions, Gaming subscriptions and newspapers which is the preference of a collective 15.74% of the total respondents.
With the convenience of on demand access to a large library of cinema, TV and original video content, video subscription services allow users to watch whichever genre they wish to consume without being tied to a fixed schedule. This convenience is enhanced with the feature of streaming on multiple devices with one login ID. Some of the world’s leading entertainment services include Netflix, Disney hotstar and prime video have invested highly in creating high quality original content to keep their subscribed users engaged. Moreover, the competitive subscription plans offered by these services make them accessible to a broader audience.

In addition to these platforms, music streaming platforms are the second most popular type of subscription service who offer personalized music recommendations, ad free music and ability to create custom playlists. After the pandemic, subscriptions of online learning and delivery apps has also significantly increased, which enable the users to access educational resources and convenient delivery services from the safety and comfort of their homes. This surge in demand reflects a growing preference for instant service solutions, even at a premium price.
