Raw organic agave nectar is sweet in flavour and prepared at temperatures below 115 degrees Fahrenheit. It is suitable for health-conscious consumers.
Light organic agave nectar has a more neutral flavour and is suitable for the preparation of coffee, tea, baked food items, smoothies, fruit drinks, ice creams and yogurts; it does not change the original flavours of these items. Sweeteners such as honey or barley syrup change the original taste of food items, making them sweeter.
The amber and dark varieties of agave nectar are more intense in taste, and small amounts of these variants are enough to add taste and flavour to food items such as tea, hot cereals, protein drinks, baked foods, waffles, spaghetti, meat glazes and stews. Agave nectar also maintains freshness and fluffiness in baked desserts for longer periods of time.
The taste of organic agave nectar varies with colour. While light agave nectar is milder and more neutral in taste, amber agave nectar has a more moderately intense caramel flavour. Dark agave nectar offers a strong caramel taste.
Organic agave nectar may be viscous or smooth and watery in texture.
Usefulness of agave syrup in various applications is expected to help market growth.
