The global non-rebreathing oxygen mask market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.2% during the period 2023-2028. Non-rebreathing masks are used to deliver high concentrations of oxygen in emergencies. These masks may be employed for traumatic injuries, after smoke inhalation, and in cases of carbon monoxide poisoning. North America, Europe and Asia are likely to be key markets.

A non-rebreather mask is a medical appliance that assists in providing oxygen in emergencies. Such masks help such people that are capable of breathing by themselves, but require significant amounts of additional oxygen. Non-rebreather masks are employed to treat many conditions.
A non-rebreather mask comprises four important parts - the mask, a reservoir bag, 2 to 3 one-way valves, and tubes to connect the reservoir bag to an oxygen tank. Oxygen moves from the tank into the reservoir bag. A one-way valve links the reservoir bag to the mask.
When an individual expires (exhales), the first one-way valve stops the breath from going back to the reservoir bag; the exhalation forces air through one or two added one-way valves on the outer side of the mask. The valves also do not let the individual inhale air from the rest of the room.
Non-rebreather masks are devised to supply significant amounts of additional oxygen to the airway. Non-rebreather masks provide an individual with 60% to 91% FIO2 (as against the normal concentration of oxygen of about twenty one percent in a room) . To achieve this, a seal is formed around the nose and mouth. The seal, in combination with the one-way valves, ensures breathing the gas from the oxygen tank.
There are several uses for non-rebreather masks. Non-rebreather masks are generally used in emergency situations when a lot of oxygen is needed at once; such uses are expected to drive the global non-rebreathing oxygen mask market. Emergencies include traumatic injury (a serious injury to the chest or the lungs may make it difficult to get enough oxygen; a non-rebreather mask helps in breathing while emergency actions are taken to stabilize the lungs) and smoke inhalation (inhaling smoke can seriously damage the lungs), carbon monoxide poisoning (lower blood capacity for oxygen; a non-rebreather mask with high-flow oxygen can help the body recover its normal capacity for oxygen more quickly), cluster headaches (a painful condition that makes daily functioning difficult; delivering high-flow oxygen through a non-rebreather mask is considered an immediate and effective treatment for treating cluster headaches), chronic airway limitations (in some cases, a non-rebreather mask may be used to treat people with chronic airway restrictions; a non-rebreather mask could help recovery if an individual experiences difficulty getting sufficient oxygen regularly due to a medical condition).
