In 2021, Avive Solutions, announced a partnership with RapidSOS. Avive and RapidSOS expressed their commitment to developing innovative solutions towards taking a novel approach at enhancing the status quo of OHCA response. With the partnership, Emergency Communication Centers (ECCs) with access to RapidSOS would be able to dispatch Avive’s intelligent AEDs to the site of a cardiac arrest emergency.

In 2021, the Town of Harpersville entered into a new partnership with Cardiac Solutions. The Town of Harpersville acquired automated external defibrillators for all city buildings, parks and recreational facilities and all patrol cars under a city-wide public access AED program. The new program would include device training and education for Police officers and other City employees.

In 2021, it was reported in the world’s first feasibility study that drones could be used to deliver life-saving defibrillators to individuals with suspected cardiac arrest in the community. Drones were found to deliver an automated external defibrillator (AED) just outside the door of residential homes, where majority of cardiac arrests took place, as well as during the first minutes of a cardiac arrest. Indeed, a drone arrived before the ambulance and it was almost two minutes earlier. In 2019, Stryker launched the company's newest defibrillation solution – LIFEPAK® CR2 defibrillator with LIFELINKcentral™ AED program manager, in the USA. The company announced that LIFEPAK CR2 AED had obtained Premarket Approval (PMA) by FDA. The LIFPAK CR2 AED was earlier released in Europe and Canada in 2017, and in Japan in 2018.
