Technology is advancing and so are our needs. New devices are now coming into the picture and making our daily lives easier. But we often forget that technology is man-made and is introduced to cater our needs. We often indulge in impulsive buying, forgetting even if we need it or not. As per an exhaustive survey conducted by Expert Market Research across top tier 1 and 2 cities, covering over 60,000 respondents, the outcomes delve deep into the technical demands by consumers from smart home devices.

Consumer Expectations Varying With Respect To Smart Home Appliances
The results derived from the survey indicate that 44% of the respondents prioritize reliability of the products and should be well-supported while 21.33% and 14.67% of the respondents prefer user centric designs and basic technology respectively. This study aims to analyze the technologies preferred by consumers in smart home devices and respective reasons. According to statistics, it's clear that majority of the share is occupied by consumers who prefer reliable and well supported smart home devices surpassing consumers who prioritizes other factors such as minimum technology, advanced innovation or user centric designs.
Reliable, well supported and devices of which designs are user-centric not only make the appliances easy to use but also caters to our daily needs. People have expectations from the product they are investing their money into and if they do not get fulfilled, it lowers the interest of the consumers towards those companies. Studies have revealed that 25% of the consumers face difficulties in operating smart home devices and 1 out of 4 individuals go for return. Thus, it is very important for brands to properly communicate the features associated with the consumers.

Different Expectations of Consumers Towards Smart Home Devices
Post-analyzing varied demands by consumers our study concludes that customer experience is the most crucial factor that must be kept in mind for smart home devices. These are newly launched technical appliances; thus, consumers take time to adapt themselves. In this scenario, catering to their expectations and needs is what best can be done at the part of companies. Additionally, smart home devices are majorly purchased by millennials who are less exposed to technological advancements and demands value for money. Besides this, these devices are a hub of numerous applications which again is a major concern of consumers demanding reliable and well supported devices. Therefore, it is essential for companies to ensure inclusivity among consumers to improve customer retention rate and build an ecosystem to enhance user experience.
