As per the BPaaS market analysis, a significant 85% of organisations are anticipated to adopt a cloud-first strategy by the year 2025. Global spending by end-users on public cloud services is expected to rise by 20.7%. The growing adoption of cloud computing is driving the demand for Business Process as a Service (BPaaS), as companies look for scalable and cost-efficient solutions that are accessible at any time and from any location. Utilising cloud-based BPaaS minimises the necessity for extensive internal infrastructure, enabling organisations to optimise their operations, reduce expenses, and enhance flexibility. Furthermore, the cloud's capability to facilitate real-time data access and seamless integration with various digital tools significantly improves the functionality of BPaaS, rendering it a compelling option for contemporary businesses.
Tech Mahindra launched its AWS Agentic Process Transformation (APT) Center of Excellence (CoE), combining its Business Process Services expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and agentic-AI capabilities. The CoE is designed to help enterprises move AI projects from experimentation into production across telecommunications, healthcare, BFSI, retail and manufacturing. Tech Mahindra reported that its first jointly developed solution, Collections Guru, had already been deployed by UK financial-services outsourcing provider Target Group, with anticipated efficiency gains of around 40% in areas where it had been rolled out. The development strengthens the integration of agentic AI with BPaaS delivery models.
AnyMind Group launched full-scale cross-border e-commerce support for Japanese enterprises on Xiaohongshu, expanding BPaaS beyond conventional back-office functions into end-to-end commerce operations. According to AnyMind Group, the service covers account and shop setup, content localisation, influencer marketing, live commerce, logistics integration, order processing, returns, customer support and data analysis. The company had already been validating the model since March 2026 with several Japanese brands. The development demonstrates how BPaaS providers are packaging technology and human-operated services into a single outsourced workflow, allowing brands to enter overseas markets without establishing separate local teams for each operational function.
ZenX launched its Finance BPaaS, targeting startups and growth-stage companies in Japan. According to ZenX, the service combines AI-driven process automation with CFO-level professional support and covers accounting, budget-versus-actual management, fundraising, investor relations and financial reporting. The company describes the offering as an end-to-end finance operation rather than simply accounting software. Its service packages also include automated invoicing and payment workflows, 13-week cash-flow planning, financial modelling and investor data-room management. The development illustrates the expansion of BPaaS into specialised finance functions, particularly for smaller companies that may not have the resources to maintain a full internal finance and CFO team.
Cognizant and ServiceNow launched an AI-powered dispute-management BPaaS solution for mid-market banks in North America. According to Cognizant, the service combines ServiceNow's dispute-management technology with Cognizant's end-to-end operational expertise. It supports dispute intake through mobile, web and CRM channels, while incorporating generative AI, sentiment analysis, automated workflows, straight-through processing and predictive analytics. The solution also automates customer communications such as letters and emails. The development is significant for BPaaS because it demonstrates a shift from outsourcing individual banking tasks toward technology-enabled, end-to-end process management, with AI embedded directly into the delivered business service.
Agentic AI is being integrated by the BPaaS service providers into the managed business processes so that the software agents can perform multi-stage actions rather than just automating each single task. According to the 2026 Enterprise AI study carried out by EXL, it was found that four out of ten firms had implemented agentic AI outside the pilot phase and that one firm achieved 85 percent invoice matching and 50 percent faster processing following the implementation of agentic AI. It was also found by EXL that data is the major challenge for 70 percent of respondents in implementing AI. This is particularly relevant for finance, collections, customer service and insurance workflows, where repetitive decisions and document-heavy processes can be handled within managed service environments.
The BPaaS vendors are now increasingly designing industry-specific workflows, taking into account the unique regulations, data and processes specific to each industry. In December 2025, Cognizant Technologies entered into a five-year agreement with Bupa Hong Kong to offer an AI-enabled BPaaS offering for the processing of health-insurance claims. This is a process which integrates claim automation with generative AI as well as fraud, waste and abuse detection rather than an out-of-the-box administrative outsourcing platform. Cognizant generated revenues of $21.1 billion in the fiscal year of 2025 and employed 356,700 people as of the second quarter of 2026. Such contracts are encouraging BPaaS models tailored to insurance, healthcare, banking and other regulated industries.
Process Intelligence is becoming a popular way for BPaaS providers to analyze existing processes prior to automating or optimizing them. In May 2026, IBM Consulting released Process Studio within their Enterprise Advantage service. According to IBM, a recent case study by a customer found more than 1,000 improvements for 1,400 processes that could help save over 25% of operational costs in 18 months with agentic AI solutions. This method transforms the delivery of managed services by allowing providers to analyze vast amounts of standard operating procedures, spot inefficiencies and optimize them prior to automating the workflow. Consequently, BPaaS increasingly incorporates process discovery and optimisation alongside routine execution.
Companies have started integrating the concept of GCC with external business process knowledge and technology, giving rise to hybrid delivery models. In July 2026, Genpact formed a collaboration with Nestlé Business Solutions to form a GCC at Hyderabad. Genpact said that the collaboration will bring together its process intelligence, domain knowledge, advanced technology, and agentic AI capabilities along with the global operations of Nestlé. This is significant for BPaaS as the companies can maintain strategic ownership of their operations and use specialist third parties for designing processes and automation. Genpact's model spans finance and accounting, customer care, procurement, risk and compliance and supply-chain services, demonstrating how BPaaS-type capabilities can increasingly be embedded within enterprise-controlled operating centres rather than delivered entirely through conventional outsourcing contracts.
The provision of BPaaS services is now becoming more cloud, data, and AI ecosystem based. Service providers can incorporate their technology stack on the basis of their hyperscaler partners' technology within the managed business process flows. It enables the outsourced process flows to leverage scalable computing, data platforms, and artificial intelligence-based services without having the need to build an entire technology stack on their own. EXL, for example, describes its current model as combining data, AI, domain expertise and operations across banking, insurance, healthcare, retail and other industries. Its 2026 reporting also highlights the movement of AI from experimentation toward enterprise-scale deployment. At the same time, providers such as IBM and Genpact are embedding agentic AI and workflow orchestration into managed services. This convergence is making BPaaS increasingly dependent on integrated cloud-and-process ecosystems rather than standalone outsourcing platforms.
The BPaaS market is experiencing significant growth, propelled by the growing demand for cost-efficient and scalable solutions across various sectors. Organisations are increasingly turning to BPaaS for essential functions such as finance, human resources, and customer service, owing to its adaptability, which enables businesses to oversee core processes via cloud-based platforms. A prominent trend within this market is the incorporation of automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, which enhances operational efficiency by automating routine tasks and facilitating improved decision-making through real-time analytics. Furthermore, the emphasis on digital transformation has grown stronger, as companies pursue BPaaS solutions to modernise and optimise their operations while retaining agility in an ever-evolving market. The emergence of hybrid cloud models and customised BPaaS offerings across different sectors further contributes to the market's expansion, effectively addressing the varied needs of enterprises.
