The global cerebral somatic oximeters market is likely to be driven by the need for dependable monitoring to avoid adverse events and improve patient care and outcomes.
Leading companies offer sophisticated solutions for better patient outcomes. For example, the INVOS™ system offers clinicians with reliable, timely, and actionable monitoring to help prevent adverse events and enhance patient care and outcomes. INVOS™ system technology offers a non-invasive “window” to the body’s microvasculature; a direct and dynamic site of gas exchange that transports about half the body’s blood volume. Gauging blood oxygenation in the microvasculature leads to sensitive and site-specific insights on perfusion adequacy or – with multi-sensor monitoring – perfusion distribution across the brain and body.
Features of the solution include near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to monitor Regional Oxygen Saturation (rSO2); supported by more than 600 peer reviewed papers; accurate value based on 75% Venous to 25% Arterial saturation. Benefits include detection of subtle changes in Saturation and Cerebral perfusion; reduction in major organ morbidity or mortality, ICU and Hospital length of Stay, Stroke, Renal failure and Postoperative cognitive decline.
Sophisticated solutions by leading companies are likely to boost growth of global cerebral somatic oximeters market. For example, the INVOS™ system is the only cerebral/somatic oximetry system with FDA cleared improved outcome claims. The INVOS™ system offers real-time monitoring of changes in regional oxygen saturation (rSO2) of blood in the brain or other body tissues under the sensor for effective oxygen monitoring in adults, children, infants and neonates. The system enables clinicians to measure site-specific oxygen levels rather than requiring them to infer the data from systemic, whole-body measures such as blood pressure and pulse oximetry. It comes in two or four data channels, and clinicians can conveniently monitor multiple brain and body areas.
Features of INVOS™ 5100C Cerebral/Somatic Oximeter include monitoring the stability of cerebral and peripheral circulations in a non-invasive, real-time way; leveraging associations between cerebral and peripheral circulations to better manage care; enables clinicians to identify if vascular beds around the vital organ areas are sufficiently perfused; enables clinicians to more closely recognize and manage regional oxygenation issues in the O.R., PICU, NICU and/or cardiac catheter lab; assists clinicians gather objective data noninvasively for decision making; suitable for patients of any weight or age.
Nonin cerebral and tissue (regional) oximetry systems assess rSO2 and offer precise, steady measurements of tissue oxygen saturation for real-time management of patients at risk for compromised oxygen saturation to the brain and other tissues. Nonin universal oximetry systems measure rSO2, SpO2, and pulse rate at the same time. Nonin regional oximetry systems are devised for use in cerebral as well as somatic positions, and may be employed for spot-checking or continuous monitoring of neonatal, paediatric, or adult patients in hospitals, long-term care, medical facilities, sleep laboratories and sub-acute environments.
