Global Industrial Protective Footwear Market

According to a new report by EMR titled, ‘Global Industrial Protective Footwear Market Report and Forecast 2024-2032’, the global industrial protective footwear market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.3% during the period 2024-2032, led by novel products designed to maximize foot safety.

The global industrial protective footwear market is expected to be driven by the need to protect workers’ feet from injuries due to splinters, heavy falling or rolling objects, slippery surface, pinch points, rotary machinery, sharp piercing edges, hot objects, loops of ropes under tension, electricity, chemicals, bad weather etc. in industrial settings. North America, Europe and Asia are expected to be key markets.

Companies seek to offer enhanced protective shoes so that workers feel comfortable and safe at work. For example, in 2022, Sisi Safety Wear launched the first locally manufactured metaguard safety footwear style for women. Considering that women have been making up a greater proportion of the workforce, including in sectors that were traditionally thought to be male-dominated, such as mining, manufacturing and construction, Sisi Safety Wear introduced the Basi Metaguard boot, the first locally produced metaguard safety boot for women. The metaguard protector was primarily designed to protect the bridge of the foot from falling rocks and other hazards prominent in the mining industries.

In 2018, Ejendals AB extended its popular range of JALAS® Zenit™ safety shoes to include six new sporty EVO models. Motivated by growing demand for work shoes that were stylish and comfortable, Zenit EVO models featured a lightweight sporty design with sock-like ergonomic fit and seamless upper for added breathability – all these features with JALAS’ signature foot protection. The shoes were intended for light to medium-duty industry (indoor as well as outdoor work), such as maintenance, warehouse duties, automotive assembly, and repair and operational (MRO) applications.
